MDPI Board Member, Joel D. Valdez
< back to board membersSenior Vice President Mr. Valdez is a native Tucsonan who served as Tucson City Manager for 16 years, overseeing nearly 5,000 jobs and a $500 million budget. In 1990, he was given the Superior Service Award for Management by the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration, the same organization that named him Arizona Administrator of the Year in 1981. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the National Academy of Public Administration, from which he received the National Public Service Award in 1985. Then-President Bill Clinton appointed Mr. Valdez to a five-year term on the U.S. Commission on Libraries and Information Sciences in 1994. Contact Joel D.
