Carla Turco, Graphic Designer

Carla Turco was born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. When she was 15 years old her family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended the University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, receiving a Bachelor in Architecture.

As a child of a scientist, she was exposed to the world of research, and along with her love for graphics she begun her career as specialist in scientific designs. In 1996 she became a Presentation Specialist at LSU Neuroscience Center of Excellence in New Orleans, LA, and in 2004 she was the Director of Graphic Arts at the Global Neuroscience Initiative Organization.

In 2002 Carla moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she continued as a Freelance Designer. In 2006 Carla became a Graphic Designer for MDPI, joining the efforts to give a voice to Latinos in America.

During her free time Carla is a physical defense instructor. She co-founded ELLA Group: Empowering Lives of Latinas in America, a non-profit organization that teaches violence prevention for children and women.
